A New Year, a New Beginning

Dear SEM Members

I hope you’ve had a Merry Christmas and a smooth transition into the New Year. 2019 started out a little rough, but great events and our membership made it a successful year. We completed another year of Tech-Sessions, Swap Meet, Street-Survival-School, Drivers Education, Spring Tour, PCA Caravan and Car Corral at the Detroit Grand Prix, Porsche Parade in Boca Raton (FL), Progressive Dinner, Picnic, Ladies Only Drive, Drive-Your-Porsche-Day, Fall Color Tour, Membership Dinner and Holiday Party.

Let’s keep this upward momentum going for 2020 and think about new and refreshing events. We cannot make it without YOU. We need your ideas and inspirations to keep SEM fresh and young. Throughout the year I spoke with several club members and they did not know how to communicate with our region’s management. Therefore, come to our Brunch sessions.

Have you marked your calendar?
January Brunch and Car Show
On Saturday, January 18th, we will meet for a casual brunch in lieu of the PCNA NAIAS Breakfast. The idea is to have some conversation regarding cars, ideas for the club and so much more at a local restaurant in Dearborn. This is also a great opportunity for new members to ask questions about SEM. How does SEM and PCA work? What is going on regional and national level? I have an idea for an event; be it a social gathering, driving tour or other. How can I present my idea to the club? How can I get involved? How can I participate in an event in Texas if I’m there on vacation? We will answer all those questions, just ask.

After brunch, around 12pm, we go over to the Free Car Show “Gateway Classic Cars”. It is 3 minutes away from the Brunch location.

February Brunch

On Saturday, February 15th we will have a Brunch two weeks before the Detroit Autorama. Brunch Location is TBD.

March Lingenfelter Collection Car Show and Lunch

On Saturday March 21st we will meet at 9:30 AM in Brighton to visit the Lingenfelter Collection. Inside this P4 issue you find more information about the event. You are very welcome to join us for lunch at a nearby restaurant afterwards.

Please see page 4 for the complete SEM/PCA Calendar. For the most up-to-date information go online at sem.pca.org
