2013 New Member Coffee and Doughnuts

You’ve finally bought that first (or maybe third?) Porsche, you read Panorama and P4 cover-to-cover each month but we haven’t met and seen your baby yet!!

Come on out to meet and get to know other new members and be introduced to fellow club and Board members. Make sure to bring your Porsche so we can all see your sweet new ride. It doesn’t matter if it’s a resurrected 924 or a spanking new 991 (heck even Cayennes are welcome!) All members are invited. Plan to join us:

For a day that dawned with a downpour and the prospect of hydroplaning my way across town in an old-school turbo, things turned out very well…

In spite of this less than perfect Porsche weather, we had a robust turn out for our New Member Event held on at Kip Sheward Motorsports.  Our hosts, Kip and Susan Sheward, laid out the welcome mat in style.  Kip’s sleek new showroom was packed with an impressive array of lust-worthy metal.  In addition to some excellent examples of Carreras and Turbos, there were Lamborghinis, Ferraris, an Aston Vanquish, Bentleys and a pristine R8.  In his back bays, Kip even had an assortment of beautiful old Detroit iron from the muscle car era in the form of a concours quality GTO, Camaros, and a couple of custom hot rods.  There was truly something for all types of petrol-heads to get excited about.

Our aim was to make this event an ice-breaker of sorts for our newer members by providing a venue where they would feel comfortable being the new guy while meeting other newbies and longer term members.  Judging by the number of introductions that were made through out the morning, I am confident we succeeded.

Regardless of our varied backgrounds, we all share a common passion and fascination with these cars that trace their lineage to an old saw mill in Austria.  The purpose of our club is to provide a forum and a variety of events that will bring us together to not only feed the passion but to lay the groundwork for new friendships.

Thank you to all who attended and we look forward to seeing you at many events in the future.
