70th Anniversary Porsche Club of America – Drive Your Porsche Day

The Porsche Club of America (PCA) turned 70 this year, and to celebrate, the Southeast Michigan PCA hosted an anniversary Drive Your Porsche Day. Porsche Novi graciously offered to host the starting location for the event, providing refreshments and cheese-and-cracker plates.

Porsche Novi also raffled off some goodies for our members who attended. A big thank-you to Porsche of Novi for their hospitality! I also purchased a selection of PCA 70th Anniversary items
at the Porsche Parade in Oklahoma City—including hats, T-shirts, cups, and mugs—which were also raffled off during the event.

We had an excellent turnout: 37 cars and 55 participants, with 34 members staying for dinner at the Rochester Mills Brewery. The driving tour lasted about an hour and a half, with five groups of cars, each with a lead and a sweeper. Special thanks to Chris Bohr, Kyle Robie, Andrew Vincent, Lisa & Marc Molzon, and Mark Vander Eyk for leading and sweeping.

Everyone loved the route that Chris Bohr mapped out. I even drove it the weekend before to make sure there was no construction along the way. There was one redirection but it turned out to be a more scenic route—which no one seemed to mind!

Dinner was a highlight of the evening. Everyone enjoyed a great meal, and the service was fantastic. RJ, our server, was one of the best I can remember in a long time. Serving 34 people is no easy task, but RJ handled it beautifully. The food was so good that a few people even went back for seconds.

To top off the evening, we had a cake decorated with the National PCA 70th Anniversary logo. Everyone left full, happy, and grateful for a wonderful drive and evening spent with fellow members.
